Events Industry Revival Initiative

Dear Partners,

Hope you are well and keeping safe.

This is to inform all industry members that the industry support initiative started initially by some members has made a positive impact and now with the support of ILEA Middle East, which is the only recognized events and entertainment association for the middle east region have formed a focused group known as the ILEA COVID-19 Crisis Committee. The aim of this committee is to represent our industry sector officially and build bridges with the authorities in order to seek immediate relief for our industry members and professionals.

ILEA Crisis Committee was announced by ILEA Middle East in mid June 2020 with a clear agenda to help the industry with relief and to focus on next steps for safe return of events to the region.

Since the launch of this initiative, the industry members are joining hands in pledging their support to the initiatives managed by the ILEA Crisis Committee and growing as each day passes. The committee shall keep the industry members and professionals posted on the progress by adapting a transparent approach through various channels of communication on behalf of ILEA Middle East.

The Crisis Committee has already submitted plea letters to The Executive Council in Dubai, Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing – DTCM in Dubai and Department of Culture & Tourism in Abu Dhabi. The committee is in regular follow-up with these government entities for updates on next steps. Next steps would be to submit plea letters to economic departments, chamber of commerce departments and reputed free zones in Dubai and Abu Dhabi explaining the financial impact to our industry and its members seeking for relief.

We shall keep our industry members and supporters updated on the progress made by the committee on regular basis through ILEA Middle East’s social channels.

We look forward to your support in our pledge as we are of a firm belief that we will get some positive direction from our able leadership of UAE and visionary department heads paving the way for revival of the Events Industry.
